They must meet strict qualifications set by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB), adhere to Australian professional standards, complete regular training, and maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance. This insurance protects both the BAS Agent and their clients from liability for any errors or accidents that may occur during their work.
